What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)
You will design electrical and automation systems according to company standards. You will produce detailed technical drawings and PLC control programs according to company and manufacturing standards.
You will also be responsible for updating documentation upon completion of automation systems all whilst working in a team and providing after sales technical support to customers when required.
Where you’ll be doing it
Your new employer is an international player in the packaging machinery space. You will be based at their highly technologically advanced plant in the Western Cape. You will work a normal day shift and go home early on a Friday! You will also be given an opportunity to travel both nationally and internationally.
You will be working with a group of people who are very big on teamwork and team building, continuously helping each other and supporting each other through the good times and the bad times.
What you’ll need:
You come with an Electrical Engineering qualification and your additional qualification in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering will give you an advantage over the rest. You have 4 to 5 years’ experience in electrical and automation design of packaging machinery as well as experience in PLC programming.
You have knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal and Step 7 and your knowledge of alternate PLC programming software like Allen Bradley, Compact Logix, Delta ISP Soft, etc and your knowledge of CAD (preferably E-Plan) will be advantageous.
