Job Description:
This role is responsible for the execution of legal and mandatory practical engineering (Winding Engine Driver) skills training at the mining/process operations for AC/DC (Alternating Current and Direct Current) winders.

You will implement the skills learning delivery system, plan & schedule winding engine driver, onsetter and banksman skills training processes and conduct & evaluate legal refresher training.

Some of the key training and development responsibilities in this role will be:

Monitor rock / Man winder for any problems according to procedure, i.e.
Operating winding engines according to shaft schedule in conjunction with the Banksman/ Onsetter training
Operating Winders for service operations according to standards and procedures
Visual inspection of working area is carried out to ensure workplace is safe
Performs coaching and on-the-job training of Learner WED and Learner Onsetters / banksman as well as newly appointed Winding Engine Drivers when required
Conduct and evaluate Winding Engine Driver refresher/induction training with all shaft personal
Slinging material/abnormal loads in shaft and shaft examination procedures and methods
Operating a double drum AC or DC (Alternating Current and Direct Current) winder and operating dynamic braking systems
Brake testing, Clutching in and out procedures and shaft communication systems
Compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (including Sect. 54/55 and learning from incidents) and compliance in terms of MQA and QCTO requirements
Ensuring that procedures and standards implemented in training are executed
This role is at ourRustenburg Offices in the Human Resource Development Department, at a D1 level reporting to the to the HRD Coordinator Engineering.

Qualifications:
Grade 12 with Mathematics and/or Science or equivalent
Assessor certificate
Moderator certificate
Valid Winding Engine Driver Certificate
DMR (Dep of mineral resources/ MQA Onsetter certificate
Proof of formal training (MQA learnership contract)

Experience:

Minimum 3 years’ experience as winding engine driver on foot plate

Additional requirements:

Travel will be required to our operational sites on frequent basis
Driver License and Own transport / travelling reimbursement according to travel policy is provided
Proficient in English language
Medical fitness certificate
