Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants for the position of Cost Accountant - Performance in the Commercial Services Department within Venetia Mine.

The incumbent will be required to execute the necessary financial activities in the business unit and ensure the application of sound accounting practices

KEY RESULT AREAS:

The successful candidate will be required to:

    Adhere to the safety, security and environmental procedures.
    Co-ordinate Strategic Business Planning budgeting process in line with Short-term & Life Of Mine planning.
    Intergrate labour analysis systems with that of the HR department to enable & provide detailed and qualitative forecasting and budgeting costing data.
    Ensure preparation & submussions of monthly performance reports to line, including analysis of results against historical data, budgets and forecasts compilation of cost meeting reports with relevant value add analysis to improve costing methods.
    Support processes focusing on cost control influencing expenditure flow to ensure no overflows between various years and identifying any breakdown of cost control inefficiencies.
    Ensure quantifiable and meaningful monthly off-mine reporting inline with Operational Dashboard, Production & Financial Performance.
    Ensure costing and analysis of waste and diamond movement stock reconciliatios on monthly for Forecast & Budget as well as the compilation of the financial month end report.
    Ensure the coordination of budget delivery within agreed timelines and adhering to the group directive with added flexibility to change ( considering the original submission with where the business is heading).
    Ensure submission of detailed monthly forecast / budget revenue analysis.
    Ensure budget & forecast reviews – value add analysis and effective / detailed reasons and identify opportunities for cost effective budget planning and execution system.
    Analyse information by using appropriate techniques to determine and recommend various alternatives to ensure viability and profitability.
    Reviews mine budgets to ensure that budget applicatios accurately reflect productivity and efficiency improvements as contained in management directives.
    Support processes of financial modelling in line with operational requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (Education & Experience)

    Grade12/Std 10/N3 or relevant NQF Level 4 qualification.
    Degree in Accounting  or relevant accounting qualification.
    5 years’ relevant experience.
    Valid EB/Code 08 Drivers License.
    Successfully obtain a Red Ticket (Medical Fitness Certificate) on mine.
